Coleus on show

My coleus has been selected by NParks as an exhibit as a 'potted beauty' at the Singapore Garden Festival. The kind people at NParks like how large and colourful the leaves are.

They had wanted the rosemary bush initially but when they realised how large it is, they picked the coleus instead. Rosemary isn't the easiest plant to grow here in the tropics and I doubt it will survive the transportation and new environment (air conditioned exhibition hall). I'm glad it's staying put in my patio. Though it's my favourite plant in the garden, I don't really want to flaunt it and watch it die.

  1. That is so cool! I love the coloring on the coleus plant. Is it easy to grow and maintain?

  2. I keep mine in a bright spot which doesn't receive any direct sunlight at all. Ever since I transfered it to a larger pot, it started growing very rapidly. The lower leaves tend to fall out as the plant grows, so it may end up looking leggy.
