Patio makeover

Now that I have a new garden umbrella and patio furniture, I should sit out in the garden more often. If only it is not so scorching hot!

The heat is unrelenting, the soles of my feet get burned when I venture out to the garden in the afternoon. Some plants get wilted under the heat but I've learned to refrain from watering them on a hot day after the succulent episcea leaves got badly scalded one day.

Still, the sun has done some wonders to the flowering plants. Some of them like the plumbago and portalucca are blooming happily!

The heliconia and yellow flowers really liven up the patio.

I came across this plant with pretty lilac flowers (below) that day. It reminds me of lavender and I had to bring it home. I hope it grows into a big tall bush with lots of purple flowers someday... just like my favourite lavender.

  3. Marken - It is quite a challenge actually, growing vegetables in the patio.

  4. J.C - Hi! It is synthetic rattan. Supposed to be heat and rain tolerant.

Have a wonderful new year too!

  6. Hi Stephanie
Happy New Year to you too!
Actually all the plumbago flowers are of the same colour, maybe it's the light that produced that effect.
